It is time for Waffles!

It is Saturday!

We are hitting the road and thus I needed to make a simple meal.
We are on a mission to find the best waffle recipe. Here is our first attempt.
If you do not have a waffle maker, then make some pancakes instead!

You will need:
* 1 and 1/3 cup whole wheat flour
* 1 cup milk
* 2 large eggs
* 4 Tablespoons melted shortening
* 2 Tablespoons sugar
* 2 teaspoons baking powder
* 3/4 teaspoon salt

In addition take two peaches, peel them, and cut them up. Place them in a pan with a little bit of sugar and simmer them. It will make a sweet peach compote that is delicious with the whole-wheat waffles. Instead of syrup consider using honey!

Mr Breakfast says:
Beat egg yolks well; add milk and shortening. Combine salt, sugar, and flour. Add to first mixture. Beat until smooth. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Sift baking powder lightly over the mixture and fold in quickly. Bake in hot waffle iron.
