Wednesday: Cheese Boats

Serves Four

Ingredients:
8 slices bread
spreadable butter
4 slices American cheese (or cheddar)
12 strips of bacon cooked

Directions:
This recipe is really just grilled cheese with bacon. My mother used to call them cheese boats. We loved them back in the day, and now my family loves them. Here are the steps if you need them.

Spread butter on one side of two slices of bread.
Put one slice of bread, butter side down, onto a skillet.
Place one slice of cheese and bacon onto the bread.
Top with the other slice of bread.
When the first side has browned, flip the sandwich over and cook other side. Cheese will melt and hold it together. Repeat with the rest of the ingredients until you have made 4 sandwiches. It is super yummy. We served our sandwiches for lunch with chocolate milk and soup.

bacon... i have never thought of that on a toasted cheese but it looks awesome. Will have to give that a try!
